Shirakawa-go
Shirakawago is situated in northwestern part of Gifu Prefecture, upper part of Shogawa River. There are more than 100 Gassho-zukuri houses in Ogi area. Structure of Gassho-zukuri, a house with steep thatched roof, is built to suit with the heavy snow environment of Shirakawa. At the Gassho-zukuri Museum, you can experience the traditional lifestyle of Shirakawago.
